Yacov Wrocherinsky Wins Small Business Person of the Year Award for New York State
Prestigious Honor Awarded Annually by the Small Business Administration
NEW YORK – April 17, 2008 – Infinity Info Systems founder and CEO, Yacov Wrocherinsky, who is a long time member of the Let’s Talk Business Network, was named “Small Business Person of the Year” for New York State by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), at an award ceremony in Manhattan.
Winning this award is a testament to Yacov’s talent and expertise in selling, customizing and implementing customer relationship management solutions. The award also attests to the strength and loyalty of Infinity’s customers and highly skilled employees.
“I accept this award on behalf of my remarkable employees,” said Wrocherinsky. “We have been in business for over 20 years and I could not have realized this dream without the support of these outstanding people.”
The SBA awards are presented each year on a district and national level based on several criteria points, including: “staying power;” growth in number of employees; increase in sales; current and past financial performance; innovativeness of product or service offered; response to adversity; and contributions to community-oriented projects.
Yacov’s “staying power” was tested in 2001 by the 9/11 attacks and the burst of the technology bubble. While others cut and ran, Yacov saw an opportunity to re-invent and grow Infinity. Yacov and his team worked closely with customers to leverage their experience in key markets and develop customized CRM solutions that are of great value to marketplace. The results for Infinity have been explosive.
Yacov also is proud of the following:
- A 90 percent employee retention rate
- Growth to more than 75 employees, nationwide
- Numerous awards including the New York Enterprise Report “Best Practices in Human Resources” award in 2006
- Greater than 30 percent year-over-year growth –each year since 2002
- Three successful acquisitions
Yacov also regularly finds time to make an impact both in his business and personal communities. He serves as an auxiliary police officer on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and helps other entrepreneurs wherever possible.
"The values of the Entrepreneurs' Organization: to boldly go, to be a student of opportunity, and to leave a legacy of learning and growth are truly embodied by Yacov Wrocherinsky and speak volumes as to why he is the winner of the 2008 New York Small Business Person of the Year," said Michael Jones-Bey, the executive director of Empire State Development Corporation's Division of Minority and Women Business Development, and a special advisor to New York State Governor David Paterson. "It also exemplifies why EO was chosen as one of the State's strategic partners in a new initiative to increase the number of minority and women owned companies that do business with New York State."
In addition to his many accomplishments, Yacov strives to make Infinity Info Systems a place where people enjoy working. Infinity attracts some of the most talented and dedicated professionals in sales, technology, finance and management. “I believe that opportunities in life are limitless,” said Wrocherinsky. “This is one of the reasons I named my company ‘Infinity’.”
